A pair of hand-colored etchings of Parisian architecture. These two intaglio prints have elaborately detailed streetscape scenes with lavish hand coloring to their paper surfaces. Both prints are signed to lower right in graphite. The one titled Mont Martre appears to be signed ‘Barry’ and only the sky and the ground appear to be colored in plate; with the rest colored by hand. The print titled Notre Dame is signed ‘Charles Moudin’. These pieces are presented under glass in wooden frames with wire hangers to their verso.
Condition
- some discoloration and mat burn to paper; nicks and wear throughout both frames.
