A monogram-signed late 19th to early 20th-century Duveneck School/Munich School oil on canvas portrait of a man. The painting is rendered in an expressionistic style, in rich shades of umber, black and red, with a depiction of a bearded old man dressed in a cream open-collared shirt with russet tie, and a black brimmed hat with red crown band. The image is set against a gradated brown to black background, signed with an artist’s monogram to the lower right. The painting is displayed in an Art Nouveau style black-painted wooden frame. Wired to the back for hanging.
