George Bowman Encaustic Portrait
Item Details
An original signed encaustic portrait on board by listed artist George Bowman. The portrait is in an Abstract Expressionistic style, in rich shades of crimson red, ocher and black, with a depiction of an African American man, his somber and face rendered in a chiaroscuro manner, with his intense features boldly delineated in black. The piece is signed to the lower left at the subject’s neckline. The work is displayed under glass in off white and red mats and a black-painted wooden frame. Wired to the back for hanging.
