Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of sepia to charcoal, rose to crimson, ivory, greens, indigo, and camel. The sepia to charcoal toned field begins with a diamond shaped medallion infilled with floral motifs, and features an all-over herati pattern, as well as serrated edged spandrels with a floral motifs. Framing the field is a main border of chained palmettes with boteh forms, along with animal head motifs to a pair of guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a short ivory warp fringe to the ends.
