A hand-knotted Persian Kashan rug. This rug displays an ornamental floral medallion enveloped with palmette motifs, executed in a palette of tawny brown, cerulean and ivory atop a crimson colored lozenge. The lozenge features palmette pendants and arabesque designs over an onyx field. The rug has boteh and running water floret patterned minor borders flanking a herati main border in alternating grounding colors. The rug finishes with overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe to each end. Unlabeled.
