Item Details
An oil painting on board by listed Chilean-born artist Guillermo Grossmacht (Santiago/Sydney, Australia; 1877-1964) titled Andean Views. This landscape depicts a thatched roof barn at the edge of a dusty landscape, a range of hazy purple hills visible in the distance. This work is scattered with trees and stones, and features the artist’s signature to its lower right. It is mounted in a gold tone frame with a hanging wire to its verso along with a label bearing the title of the work and noting that it was originally one of two.
Condition
- poor; major warping; would benefit from cleaning; dust and staining to fabric liner; surface wear to frame; flaking gilt.
