Constantine Kermes Limited Edition Lithographs "Pardners" and "Shaker Gifts"

A pair of limited edition lithographs on paper titled Pardners and Shaker Gifts by American artist Constantine Kermes (1923-2009). The first of these prints depicts a young Shaker boy leading a horse and is printed in black ink. It is numbered 24 in an edition of 50 and dated ‘82’. The second is printed in teal and black and depicts a group of Shaker people engaged in a line dance with women on the left and men on the right. The quote ‘Tis the Gift to be Simple, Tis the Gift to be Free’ is printed between the lines of dancers. It is marked as an artist’s proof and dated ‘84’. Each print is signed by hand and dated to the lower right, titled to the lower center, and marked with its edition to the lower left. They are presented unframed and unmatted.
Condition
- “Shaker Gifts” has some smudges and scuff marks to the margins; bottom right margin has a crease in the paper; there is a scratch to the upper right margin; “Pardners” has light scuff marks and accretion to outer margins; left side of paper has a deckle edge.
