A hand colored engraving titled La Jeune Fille Decouverte or, ‘The Young Girl Discovered’ after a painting by Jacques Opie. This intaglio print depicts a confrontational scene involving a young woman’s private letters, presumably from an admirer, being discovered by her disapproving father and mother. The work is attributed to Opie and engraver A. Chaponnier in-plate in the lower margin. It is presented loose, unframed.

minor scratches along the surface and tears along the edges, toning and foxing present
