Antique Hand-Painted Bohemian Glass Mantel Lustres
Item Details
A pair of antique Bohemian ruby glass lustres. Also known as a girandole, each piece features notched prisms which dangle from the crenelated sconce and the curvilinear stem, which rests on a round foot. The lustre is hand-painted with a delicate floral motif and detailed gilt filigree, including alternating heart and iron cross motifs which circle the sconce. The pieces bear no discernible maker’s marks, consistent with pieces produced in the region in the mid-19th to early 20th century.
