A pair of circa 1930s Paris Etching Society reproduction prints on paper after antique French fashion plate etchings, originally printed in La Mode Illustrée. Featured are prints after Gilquin and Leroy depicting 19th-century women’s fashion, accented in pale hues of blue, green, pink, aqua and red. Each work includes a pale aqua Sydney Z. Lucas ‘SZL’ seal in plate, denoting the works as Paris Etching Society prints, as well as magazine and artist information printed in plate to the lower center. They are matted in green and presented under acrylic glazing in wooden frames fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- slight toning and foxing to paper; minor wear, loose joints and scratching to frames; accretion and residue to protective glazing; frame backings are not fully secure.
