Vintage Portmeirion "Birds of Britain" Canisters
Item Details
A set of three vintage ceramic storage canisters in the Birds of Britain pattern by Susan Williams-Ellis for Portmeirion. These cylindrical canisters are topped with wooden lids and feature an inglazed depiction of a black grouse against a natural landscape after an original illustration out of E. Donovan’s Natural History of British Birds published 1794. The lower margins of the canisters are labeled with the bird’s English and Latin names and the undersides are dated 1978 with Portmeirion maker’s marks in green.
Condition
- surface wear including scratches, markings and kitchen residue; there is sticker residue to the undersides.
