An oil painting on canvas of an impressionistic coastal landscape by well-listed German artist Paul Müller-Kaempff (1861-1941). Exhibiting large loose brushstrokes, this peaceful landscape features prominent lush trees in the foreground of a grassy terrain; a calm sea is minimally visible along the distant horizon underneath a blue and violet sky. The painting is signed ‘P. Müller-Kaempff’ to the lower left. It is presented in gesso wood frame with a subdued gold-tone finish and scrolling foliate motifs in the corners.
Known for his landscape paintings, Paul Müller-Kaempff received art training at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Karlsruhe under the tutelage of Gustav Schönleber (1851–1917,) and the Berlin Academy in the studio of Hans Gude (1825–1903). He was a member of the Hamburg Artists Association, and he and his wife were founding members of the Oldenburg Art Society.

- considerable craquelure throughout painting; small spots of paint loss and flaking scattered throughout sky and present along edges of composition; very small spots of accretion scattered throughout painting; canvas is loose in frame and needs securing; wear in frame includes small cracks, stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout.
