This abstract piece is composed of wave-like arching organic shapes in jewel tones including violet, emerald, yellow, and blue. Mathews, known for her colorful and expressive paintings and drawings describes her work as follows, . . .having painted for over 25 years, it is difficult to describe my art but whimsical, abstract, and fantasy come to mind. . . After years of suffering from mental illness, Carol’s art became a crucial conduit for her internal turmoil. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
