A wonderful Limbert Furniture Duncan Phyfe – style drop leaf table, of mixed woods featuring mahogany and walnut, with two front drawers lined in green velvet fabric, fantastic crotch mahogany veneer to drawer fronts, with diamond and banded marquetry inlay, oval metal pulls. The base has a carved lotus stem, with four reeded splayed legs, and claw carved wood feet. Stamped to drawer ‘Limbert Furniture tradesman by Van Raalte Craftsmen, Grand Rapids Mich., Holland Mich’. This branded label, from the famous maker of Arts & Crafts furniture, the Charles P. Limbert Co., was used to announce that D. B. K. Van Raalte had assumed control of the company after the death of Limbert in 1923.
