An engraving after J. M. W. Turner’s Dido Building Carthage. This restrike intaglio engraving print is after the original painting by J. M. W. Turner. It depicts the rise of the Carthaginian empire through an idealized cityscape complete with lush foliage on the hillside as well as a bustling port for water travel and trade. This print is presented in a gold tone wooden frame with a mat. On the verso it is hung with a wire hanger and has a pamphlet which has a description of the work. The print margin is labeled ‘E. Goodall sculpt’ with the title.

Condition

- foxing marks to paper; abrasions and loss throughout finish of frame particularly front edges; nicks and wear to frame.
