A 1909 watercolor painting on paper signed ‘A.M.H.’. The piece depicts an antlered buck shown in side profile with head raised, set against a backdrop of evergreen shrubs, distant trees and pale blue skies. The work is initialed and dated by hand to the lower right. It is matted in light brown and presented under glass in a vintage wooden frame with hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- areas of wear with media loss to deer’s nose area and lower right; toning and warping to paper and matting; scratches and edge wear to frame; loose joints to frame with splits to edges; sticker residue to frame glass; wear to frame verso.
