A pair of offset lithographs after etchings by English artist Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827). This pairing of caricatures are titled Four O’Clock in Town and Four O’Clock in the Country. Each depicts a humorous figural viis signed and dated in plate to the lower left, titled and inscribed to the lower border. They are presented under glass in narrow black frames, finished with wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- various scuffs, marks, and wear to frames; discoloration to prints and water damage along both lower edges; adhesive residue to glass; foxing and wear to paper backing.
