A set of six sterling silver teaspoons by Whiting Mfg. Co. These are in the Charles Osborne designed Pompadour pattern, first introduced in 1895, featuring an ornate handle with scrolled and floral accents. They are marked to the backs with the maker’s mark, ‘Sterling’, and ‘Pat. 1898’. They are presented with another sterling silver teaspoon in the Apollo pattern. It is marked to the back with a ‘F. Mettler’ retailer’s mark, ‘Sterling Pat.’, and a maker’s mark for J.B. & S.M. Knowles of Providence, RI (active 1875-1905). Each spoon has a personalized engraving to its handle. The total approximate weight is 4.625 ozt.
