Item Details

A selection of vintage Bavarian porcelain mustache mugs. Featured is a mustache mug with hand-painted foliate motif which bears an impressed gilt inscription: ‘Present.’ It is finished with gilt trim to the edges. It is accompanied by two mustache mugs with lightly embossed detail to the body, accented clusters of with pink roses. The taller is marked ‘Germany 46’ to the base. Two mugs finished with floral motifs are also included; one is marked ‘Bavaria’ to the base. These pieces date from the early 20th century, in use until the 1920s.

Condition

- various wear to painted finishes; minor marks and faint scratches throughout; various spots of discoloration and residue to interior.
