Item Details

An early 20th century Buff & Buff Mfg. Co., Jamaica Plain, Boston Surveyor’s transit and wood case. Serial number: 13883. The transit is attached to a wood base which slides out of the wood carrying case. Original paper instructions for storing, care and maintenance are attached to the back and door of the box.

Condition

The equipment appears to be in working order, yet untested. The leather strap is not present, just two parts fo the carrying strap are nailed to the sides of the box.

The size above refers to the case. The scope of the transit is 12" long
