Antique Rococo Revival Balloon Back Chairs

A pair of antique Rococo Revival balloon back chairs. These two carved mahogany side chairs, circa 1850-1875, feature balloon backs with rose-carved crests above horizontal scrolled slats and padded spring seats that are upholstered in a faded pink patterned fabric with double welting over the bowed skirts, the chairs resting on French cabriole front legs and raking back legs. No apparent maker’s mark.

Condition

- discoloration, marks, and scratches, both backs of chairs are damaged and would benefit from repair/restoration.
