Substantial Japanese Satsuma Vase with Samurai and Serpentine Dragon

A substantial Japanese Satsuma porcelain vase, ovoid in form with a high shoulder and short neck. The entire circumference of the vase decorated in polychrome and gilt to illustrate Samurai surrounding a central female figure and serpentine dragons with a mountainous landscape in the distance. Many of the figures are hand painted with exaggerated facial features, dramatic brows, armor and patterned textiles while the serpentine dragons have raised scales. The vase is signed to the bottom, please be certain to note the dimensions.
