An east Asian inspired silk embroidery image of a crane. This piece features an embroidered image of a crane on the right standing in water with long blades of grass in pale greens and yellows. The embroidery is done in silk thread on silk fabric, and the piece is framed in wood, under glass and has a protective backer and hanging wire to the verso. The artwork is not marked by an artist.
Condition
- there are a few brown discolorations to the silk background material, (not foxing), more like stains from accretion. There is also some debris under the glass throughout the embroidery; frame has considerable edge wear, chipping paint exposing bare wood and nicks and gouges to the wood.
