Japanese "Blue Willow" Tableware

A selection of Japanese serveware including a cruet, covered sugar bowl, cream jar, and votive holder warming tray. The pieces feature the Blue Willow pattern depicting a pagoda on a hillside near a waterfront and songbirds flying among willow trees with diamond patterns to the borders. The famous Willow pattern has imagery derived from Chinese export porcelain that was first produced by Josiah Spode in 1790. The pattern became extremely popular and has been produced continuously ever since. The pieces are marked ‘Made in Japan’ to the underside.
Condition
- creamer has adhesive residue to side; sugar shows crazing throughout; stains to undersides; discoloration to handle of large pitcher.
