Vintage George III Style Library Armchair, Circa First Half 20th Century

Item Details

A vintage George III style library armchair, first half of the 20th century. The mahogany frame is upholstered in green leather with metal tacks along the edges. It features an arched crest above a padded back and seat flanked by open, padded arms with downswept supports. The chair rises on square, molded front legs joined by stretchers to the raking back legs, all of which end in metal casters. There are no maker’s marks.

Condition

- some small chips to legs and stretchers; upper portion of back left leg with a light crack around it, possibly the result of a repaired break; some fading and stains to upholstery, with heavier wear to the arms and larger stains to both sides of the back; back with some indentations to leather; other minor surface wear as would be expected.
