Williamsport Foundry Great American Revolution Pewter Plates

A collection of Williamsport Foundry ‘Great American Revolution’ pewter plates. This collection includes six pewter plates with thick rims and a recessed center accented with a ceramic insert depicting painted scenes from the American Revolution including the ‘Battle of Bunker’s Hill’ after John Trumbull, ‘Washington Cross the Delaware’ after Emanuel Leutze, ‘The Spirit of ’76’ after A.M. Willard, ‘Surrender of Cornwallis’ and ‘Declaration of Independence’ after John Trumbull, and ‘Betsy Ross and The First Stars and Stripes’ after John Ward Dunsmore. The plates were manufactured at the Williamsport Foundry in Canton, Ohio. Included with the plates is a certificate of registration of special edition series. The undersides of the plates are marked Canton, Ohio 1975 followed by other maker’s marks.
