1960s Police Patrol Friction Helicopter and 1978 Twiggy Robot

A pair of vintage action-designed toys. This selection includes 1960s ‘Police Patrol’ tin friction helicopter and 1978’Twiggy’ wind-up robot from the Buck Rogers science fiction series. The toy helicopter is constructed of tin and plastic and has three functional rotating propellers on top. There are two police officers inside the plastic domed helicopter’s cockpit. As the two wheels with rubber tires turn, the propellers move. This tin lithograph toy’s marking reads ’ Patrol PD’ on the sides. Finally, there is a Twiggy wind-up toy robot from the Buck Rogers science fiction movie. Made of a durable plastic and designed to walk, Twiggy is marked Copyright ‘1978 Robert C. Dille.’
Condition
Good Condition. The helicopter is in working order and exhibits surface and edge age wear. No cracks in the plastic cockpit. The robot does wind-up and is inconsistent with the walking motion when activated.
Dimensions
The measurements reflect the size of the protective bag.
The toy helicopter measures 10" wide and Twiggy measures 7" tall.
