A collection of monkey and cat ceramic and bone figurines in Wise Monkey poses. The thirteen pieces in this lot feature three sets of the proverbial ‘Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil’ Three Wise Monkey style figurines. One set carved in bone is depicted as three cats with scarf headdresses; they sit on four-legged stools from which they can be removed. Another group features small monkeys carved out of bone; they are marked to the base with a four-character stamp. A small ovoid vase held up by three monkeys is marked to the base ‘China’. The largest pieces of the lot feature three ceramic macaques in colorful floral motif vests; they are marked to the base ‘Made in The People Republic of China’.
