A Victorian style mahogany chest. The chest is a companion piece to the king bed in listing #089, as well as the chest, entertainment cabinet and récamier chaise/ bench in other listings in this sale. The chest has a scalloped faux marble top with beveled edge., a full-width top drawer decorated with dimensional ribbon swags and acanthus leaves, and two lower paneled drawers designed in a divided fashion with dark brass floral pulls and dimensional floral medallions to the center panels. The chest has foliate spiral-carved corner columns, an ornate scrollwork apron with center seashell accent and round feet with acanthus leaf caps and rectangular block details. The chest has flat panel sides.
