George Howe Oil on Canvas Painting of a Landscape
Item Details
An original oil painting on canvas by listed American artist George Howe (1896-1941). This woodland landscape painting depicts a row of several boulders in a sunny clearing within a dense conifer forest. The work is signed ‘G.H.’ in the lower right of the composition. It is presented in a gold tone wood and gesso frame with molded arabesque floral pattern.
Condition
- to fair; gesso chunks have cracked off the wood frame at the upper right corner, lower right corner, nicks and gouges to frame and inner frame. There are several spots on the painting that show media loss, mostly to the center and lower margins.
