A thrown, salt-glazed bowl by Michael Simon. This neutral stoneware bowl features the image of a fish with black stripes on the interior, and it has a raised, trimmed foot ring. It is marked, ‘MS’ near the base.
Simon (American) was a student of listed ceramic artist Warren MacKenzie, and received an MFA degree from the University of Georgia. His work is held and exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and is in The Roger Corsaw Collection of Ceramic Art at Alfred University.
