Circa 1940s Hand-Knotted Signed Persian Royal Mashad Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique circa 1940s hand-knotted Persian Royal Mashad area rug signed by the weaver. This rug has a cotton foundation and is knotted with lambs wool forming a deep, plush pile. It is decorated with a lobed central medallion in bright pink, green and cream with a tan border against a slate blue field with intricate foliage designs. The field is framed with a compound border with a thick primary border in navy blue with pink, white and light blue borders. It is signed in the slate blue outer border on one end. It has a natural cotton warp fringe.
