The Arabian Nights Their Best Known Tales edited by Kate Doublas Wiggin and Nora Smith with illustrations by Maxfield Parrish. The book was published in 1933 by Charles Scribner’s sons of New York for the Scribner Illustrated Classics series. This series was known for the superb illustrators brought to the task for this collection. Perhaps none better or more renowned than Maxfield Parrish. The titles bearing his illustrator byline are the most highly sought of the series. I was fortunate enough to find both Parrish books from this series at the same fine estate. The book is clean and tight and unmarked. 339 pages with the last page left uncut. Beautiful decorative end-papers and paste-down cover illustration. This is a later prinbting of the first edition. Gilt spine tilting is faded with the spine rubbed a bit. Else, near fine.
