An vintage hand-knotted Persian Heriz Karaja area rug. This rug features a sawtooth diamond central medallion flanked by two irregular cream and tan medallions on a rectangular brick red field. The rug’s primary border has a repeating geometric floral pattern on a cream ground with geometric guard borders. The rug is finished with a double-wrapped selvedge to both sides and a fine cotton warp fringe to both ends.
