A hand-knotted Turkmen pictorial accent rug. This finely woven wool rug depicts a pergola in front of a three-storey building, with stylized juniper trees and the outlines of tall mountain peaks in the background. The foreground features a reflecting pool with the image of the building and pergola reflected. Framing the picture field are compound, Turkmen-style borders featuring geometric patterns. The palette is ivory, cocoa, lavender, emerald and crimson. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
