A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kashan rug. This piece features a crimson red field with a large ivory and indigo double pendant medallion with a detailed floral and foliate pattern in pale blue, shades of green, lavender and fuchsia with ruby and taupe accents. the surrounding field repeats the pattern, leading to corner spandrels with detailed and crisp lobed blooming flowers and lancet leaves. Layered carnation floral guard borders frame a wide meander palmette principal border with a light blue ground. It has a short natural cotton fringe to either end.
