A watercolor painting on paper of a Venetian canal by an artist appearing to sign the work ‘G. Parolari.’ This delicately-rendered work features a palette of blue and rich earth tones, depicting a gondola toward one side of a wide, atmospheric canal. Lines of buildings are visible toward both sides of the composition, which is signed toward its lower right corner and matted under glass in a gold tone frame. There is a hanging wire present to the verso of the piece.

Condition

- wear to edges of frame; dust present throughout; toning and light burn to matting; piece loose in frame; residue present to glass; heavy staining and foxing to matting and image.
