Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Carpet Runner

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool carpet runner. The rug has been worked in abrash shades of claret, wine, indigo, ivory, peach, gray, umber, coffee, and robin’s egg blue. The scarlet field is ipopulated with a pattern of herati motifs. The guard borders incorporate serrated and carnation and meander designs and the unresolved primary border features stylized geometric flowers. The selvedges are overcast and there is fringe at each end. Unmarked.
