A hand-knotted Pakistani Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a bright palette cranberry, violet, ivory, turquoise, lime, rose, ochre, olive, sky blue, and black. The lonzenged cranberry field features a notched diamond pendant medallion, resting on an ivory colored ground with small spandrels. The entirety of the field is filled with an abundance of motifs including flower sprays, palmettes, vase forms, branched flowers, trees, and geometric symbols. The elaborate field is framed in a main overly stylized herati patterned border, along with floral meander, and sawtooth guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
