Large Brass Muffin or Alarm Hand Held Bell

Item Details

A large antique cast brass muffin or alarm, hand held bell. The bell features two brass domes mounted back to back with iron clanger works inside. The bell is mounted to a nicely turned wood handle which is stamped ‘Patd Oct. 27th 1868’ and has a ring to the end for hanging. This style of bell was commonly used as fire alarms and vendor bells in the mid to late 19th century.
