A sterling silver flatware set by Westmorland Sterling Co. This company was created by Wearever Aluminum and Wallace Silversmiths to sell sterling flatware and holloware directly to customers through door-to-door subscriptions, and all products were manufactured by Wallace Silversmiths. This collection is in the John & Priscilla pattern, first introduced in 1940, which features a flared handle with reeded detailing at the tip. The fifty-two piece set includes seventeen teaspoons, two place spoons, eight salad forks, eight dinner forks, a serving fork, a master butter knife, a sugar spoon, a ladle, two serving spoons, and a cocktail fork, marked to the backs ‘Westmorland Sterling’. Also presented are nine dinner knives and a pie server with hollow sterling handles and stainless blades. The set comes with a flatware tray with felt-like lining. The total approximate weight excluding dinner knives and pie server with stainless blades, is 48.480 ozt.
