James Jay London Sterling Silver Fiddle Handle Spoons
Item Details
A set of six antique sterling silver fiddle handle spoons by London silversmith James Jay. Each spoon features a broad fiddle handle with pointed shoulders and a round bowl. The handles are tipped to the undersides and marked ‘JAYS’ in square cartouches with chamfered corners followed by a sideways ‘B’ in a matching cartouche. They are not marked for silver purity but tested as sterling. The total approximate weight is 5.020 ozt.
