A contemporary facsimile oil painting on canvas after Portrait of Comtesse d’Haussonville signed ‘Blake’. The work is a copy painting created after an 1845 portrait of French essayist Louise de Broglie by well-listed French artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780 – 1867). It depicts the countess posed in a blue dress, standing next to a mirrored vanity with a wry smile. The piece is signed ‘Blake’ in blue paint to the lower left. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame with moulded gesso embellishments, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
