Salvaged Marine Wet Card Compass from Maine Coastline
Item Details
A large marine compass salvaged from a fishing boat somewhere of the coast of Maine. This is an Robert Merrill, New York boxed boat compass. The interior bowl is filled with a mixture of distilled water and pure ethyl alcohol creating a very accurate compass. Brass peeks from the blackened tarnish on the compass ring. Mountings and brackets show corrosion. No other provenance present.

- corrosion, age and tarnish all consistent with a previously salvaged piece.
