An oil painting on canvas of a pastoral landscape. This Plein-Air style painting depicts a grassy, scenic hill featuring lush foliage surrounding a rustic cottage with a thatched rooftop. To the lower right corner of the composition is a painted signature appearing to read ‘J. Honsa’, which is dated 1919. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- small areas of paint loss throughout; would benefit from cleaning; minor wear to edges and corners of frame; chip to back edge upper right corner of frame.
