1906 Sampson Mordan & Co. Sterling Silver Place Card Holders
Item Details
A pair of sterling silver place card holders from 1906 by Chester maker Sampson Mordan & Co. Ltd. Each piece features a circular designed card holder with a personalized engraving of a Gothic ‘M’ to the front, mounted on a circular base. The tops of the bases are stamped with a ‘S M & Co’ maker’s mark alongside three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling, a Chester city mark, and an ‘F’ date mark for 1906. Additionally, the holders are marked ‘RD402227’. The total approximate weight is 1.685 ozt.
Condition
- minor surface wear including marks, scratches, and minimal tarnishing; personalized engraving to the fronts of the holders.
