A large hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool area rug. The rug has been worked in shades of cherry, cadet blue, emerald, white, sky blue, indigo, gold, fawn, and aqua. This rug features an elaborate central floral medallion. The field is comprised of floral bouquet forms highlighted by ornamental scrolled spandrels. The compound border includes carnation meander guard borders and palmette, floral and sawtooth patterns. The selvedges are overcast and there is fringe to each end. A tag is attached to the reverse.
