Antique Victorian Beaded Collar, Skirt and Shift
Item Details
A group of antique Victorian clothing items. Includes a beaded shoulder collar; a black crepe and satin ribbon skirt and a white linen shift. The beaded collar is designed with a center fabric panel had sewn with jet beads. The shoulders are covered netting and adorned with jet beads. The back has hook and eye fasteners along with ribbon straps. The black crepe skirt has both vertical and horizontal black satin like ribbons and hand embroidered black appliqués dot the front panels. The shift is crafted with linen and the straps and top are created with hand crotched quaker lace. The size is very small on all of the items.
Condition
- to fair consistent with age.
- the lining in the beaded shoulder collar is shedding, the netting has some holes and some of the hoof fasteners are worn.
- the crepe in the skirt has some ear spots and some holes.
- the hand-crocheted lace on the shift has some holes and it has yellowed with time.
