An oil painting on canvas titled Yucca Plant by listed artist Dalhart Windberg (Texas; b. 1933). Depicted are the sword-shaped leaves and large terminal panicles of white flowers of the yucca plant surrounded by prickly pear paddles on a rocky ground. Artist’s signature to lower left corner of painting. Piece is presented in an intricate gold-toned wooden frame with an informative plaque to the lower margin.

Born in Goliad County, Texas, Dalhart Windberg is a painter of romantic landscapes inspired by his travels throughout Texas, Mexico, Spain, Greece and more. In his art, Windberg developed a method of achieving smooth surfaces like the Old Masters using diluted modeling paste to prepare his grounds so the paint could go on quickly and with precision. He became a leading artist for American Masters Foundation and in 1979, he was named Texas State Artist. In addition to his originals, multiple limited edition prints of his work have circulated under his business Windberg Enterprises.
