A watercolor painting on paper of a landscape by listed artist Herbert J. Day (English-born American, 1875 – 1950). The work depicts a rural landscape with trees, hills, and a farmhouse to the distance. Signed in graphite to the lower right corner. Housed in a gilt wood frame under glass and matting. To the verso is hanging hardware. Day was known for his watercolor landscapes.
Condition
- to fair. Minor water stains to the verso. Minor wear to the gilt finish on the frame. Overall discoloration to the matting and watercolor. Mat burn to the painting.
